No. The BSAC Boat Handling Course is aimed at people with no previous boating experience, and it also develops the skills of more experienced boaters.

The course costs £285. You will also need a training pack. The printed pack is £65 from us while stocks last, or you can buy the digital pack direct from BSAC for £58, which includes the e-book Seamanship: A Guide for Divers. We can also supply a printed copy of the book for £10.

The minimum age for the BSAC Boat Handling Course is 14 years old. Candidates under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also booked onto the course. Please give your age on the booking form and we will confirm you can take the course when we get in touch.

No. No diving qualification is necessary to take part. Boat Handling is a great way to get non-divers involved in the club, especially if they have family members who dive.

After the BSAC Boat Handling Course you can move on to the Post Boat Handling Workshop, which builds your five hours behind the helm, then the Diver Coxswain Preparation Workshop and the Diver Coxswain Assessment. If you want to do it all in one go, the Jurassic Aqua Sports 5 Day Intensive runs from Boat Handling to Diver Coxswain Assessment.

Yes. Jurassic Aqua Sports can add dates for club or group bookings of 3, and we are happy to arrange bespoke dates if the scheduled ones do not suit.
